Summary: In a friendly race between Speedsters, Kid Flash and the Flash zoom through Central City at nearly the speed of light. Suddenly, the startled young super hero screeches to a stop. A strange shadow is overtaking the sky above the metropolis. As the city becomes enveloped in near-total darkness, the Flash realizes that only one man could be behind the evil event - the shadowy super-villain, Shade. This sorcerer of darkness is a threat to Speedsters everywhere - but with the entire city blanketed by shadow, the danger will be magnified ten-fold. (From cover)
